Lotus Love

It’s the start of Spring. And the start of my blog. Sending some lotus love seems most appropriate!

A few years ago, as I was going through some personal struggles, I stumbled across a photo of a lotus flower, and found myself drawn to it.  It brought a calmness to my mind that was so needed.  I’d never had a favorite flower before in my life (40+ years) and couldn’t figure out why this flower was calling out to me now. So, I was curious to learn more about what this flower symbolizes.

New beginnings, strength, and resilience.

  • Lotus flowers grow and emerge from muddy waters and bloom immaculately; beautiful and pristine.  The ability of the lotus to rise above adversity and blossom in the face of challenges serves as a wonderful metaphor for overcoming our own obstacles.
  • The lotus’ pristine petals symbolize purity of heart, mind, and spirit. The flower’s ability to thrive in murky waters without becoming soiled is a reminder of how important it is to maintain inner love and peace while enduring life’s trials and tribulations.
  • Since they return to the murky water each evening and open their blooms at the break of day, without stains, lotus flowers are also symbols of strength and resilience. It is all about new beginnings and starting fresh each day.

It’s something that’s become a special symbol to me, especially when I need a little lift.

What does the lotus flower mean to you?
